How to Get the Best Blogging Tools at a Discount in 2024
When it comes to blogging, the tools that you need to help you and your blog succeed can start to get pretty expensive. If you are an up-and-coming blogger, then you know exactly what I am talking about. It can almost seem like an impossible peak to climb when everything costs so much money upfront.
But I am here to tell you that there are a ton of ways to get a great discount on many of the tools you will need. There are even some that have a free trial!
So grab a pen and paper and get ready to take some notes on some of the best ways to get some of the best blogging tools out there for a great discount.
#1: Research the Best Blogging Tools That You Will Actually Need
When you are first starting out a new blog, there may be a ton of different sites and tools that may seem like you need to buy in order to do well. But that just is not the case.
In fact, more often than not, the fewer tools you use, the better, especially in the beginning stages of a new blog. The last thing you want to do is spend your whole savings on tools and sites that will not serve you.
Not to say that those sites and tools are not useful. Plenty of them are! However, a new blogger can easily get overwhelmed by all of the things they would need to constantly check.
Many new bloggers can get burnt out and just quit altogether. And we definitely do not want you to do that.
#2: Take A Blogging Course First
This tip is a small but important one! Check out a blogging course on Udemy. If you have read any of my other posts, you may have seen me bring them up pretty often. This is because I love this site!
I call it the Google of blogging courses because that is truly what it is. And there are a ton to choose from. Plus, most courses have a 30-day money-back guarantee along with full lifetime access. Furthermore, there are even some free courses you could take!
Some courses that could be great for a beginner blogger are:
Ranked 4.5 stars and taught 521 students. This course is a step-by-step system that shows you how to become a full-time blogger.
Also a step-by-step course and a bestseller. It boasts that it is evergreen (which means its information will stay up to date), beginner friendly, and fun. It also has a 4.5-star rank and has taught over 25,494 students.
This is a partial course that is ranked with 4.6 stars and has taught over 11,962 students. It has free online video content. But it also has a paid version that gives you access to a certificate of completion, instructor q&a, and direct messaging to the instructor as well.
#3: Find the Right SEO Tool for You
Before I just begin naming SEO tools, do you know what SEO stands for and why it’s important? If you don’t, that’s perfectly okay! I had no idea until I was quite a ways into blogging, and I wish someone explained it to me much sooner!
Basically, SEO is short for Search Engine Optimization. And what that means is that there are certain keywords that people will look up through search engines, like Google. When that happens, you will want to have those keywords, or similar to them, so that your post will show up!
That is just a quick explanation. If you’d like to learn more about SEO, check out my other post here.
So, why would you want an SEO tool?
An SEO tool basically just helps you find the right keywords that you should use in order to rank higher on search engines. Sure, you could just guess. But why take the chance and lose potential readers and, eventually, money?
RankIQ vs. SEMRush
Right now, I use two different tools, Rank IQ and SEMRush. Both are great! But I tend to favor Rank IQ a bit more. And here’s why.
On the RankIQ website, I can search for different categories and subjects that I would like to write about. Then, it finds different keywords for me to use, along with a time that I could expect to see my post rank up on a search engine.
For example, some keywords would allow my post to rank up as quickly as 30 days. Whereas others would allow me to rank up in about 90. It just depends, honestly.
When I am ready to write, RankIQ gives me a word count and a grade that I should hit to make sure that I rank up on search engines. If I don’t hit those marks, I won’t rank up as quickly. I love that I can write directly onto the site, and it tells me on a sidebar which keywords I have and have yet to use.
If that sounds good to you, check out the RankIQ site here!
SEMRush, on the other hand, comes in handy if I can’t find the right keywords for my post. It is a WordPress plugin that allows you to do keyword research more independently.
By that, I mean that you have a bit more freedom to write exactly what you would like to because you are physically searching for keywords that have a higher search volume but without too much competition. Once your keyword research is completed, you can add those words, along with suggested keywords throughout your blog post, meta description, title, and even photo texts!
SEMRush is an awesome writing tool. But it is also a great website analyzer, as well.
You can easily look up your website, and you are given a ton of information about each and every page of your site. If you do not like how your post is doing, it gives you detailed information about how you can improve it by using different keywords and links.
I often use both sites to improve my website’s ranking! And they both have given me fantastic results.
#4: Check Out Appsumo for Great Deals On Blogging Tools
Appsumo is another great blogging tool that I love to use to find great deals and discounts for blogging tools and courses. The great thing about signing up with Appsumo is that, no matter what, you will always save at least 10% off of any blogging tool or course that you take through their site.
And I get it. Paying $99 for membership may sound pretty steep. But in the long run, once you buy your first blogging tool or blogging course with it, it will pay for itself fairly quickly.
And something else that is great about Appsumo is that you will also have a 3-day period to try it out before you actually start paying for it. That way, you can ensure that Appsumo is right for you.

#5: Find a Great Image-Making Tool
For my blog, I pride myself on having high-quality images. This is because the better the images are, the more likely your readers will be able to envision exactly what you are writing about at the time. Not to mention, if you have an attractive-looking featured image, the more likely a reader will choose your article to read.
This is why I love using Canva. Not only does it allow you to create beautiful images, but you can also animate them as well! It is super easy to add my logo and custom color palette to any template, too. And the drag-and-drop features are super simple to get the hang of pretty quick!
And if you don’t like making a new template each and every time you have a new post, there is a way to save the ones you like most, and you can just tweak them here and there, and voila! You have a new image in less than 5 minutes.
#6: Sign Up With Google Analytics
Google Analytics is one of the best free blogging tools for beginners out there. Well, that and Google docs! Basically, Google Analytics allows you to check out how well your blog site is doing. You can even check how each blog post is fairing individually!
There is a wealth of information available for you to decode, and all of it is extremely useful when it comes to blog growth and, eventually monetization.
#7: Reach Out to Your Fellow Bloggers
This is my absolute favorite tip for all new (and old) bloggers! Reach out to your blogging community when you have questions or are looking for advice.
I have always known that it was super important to have people who are having the same (or close to) the same experiences you are having. That way, if you are ever in a slump or just stuck with your blog, there are tons of people who are willing to help you through it.
If you ever wanted to have a community like that, I suggest joining my very own Facebook group called Bloggers Supporting Bloggers! I have over 40,000 people who love to help each other out.
And besides having a ton of support within the blogging community, you can also ask around the group where they find the best blogging discounts! More often than not, a ton of people would have used the same tools and will let you know which works best for them!
It is super easy to join, too. Plus, it’s free!
Wrapping It All Up
Finding the best blog writing tools at a discount is pretty simple once you know what you actually need and where to find them. This is not a full list of the best discounts by far. In fact, I am sure there are a ton more out there!
