My Blogging Journey: How To Make Money Blogging For Beginners

We just started a new blog that launched almost exactly one month ago. One cool thing I’m happy to say is that we’ve already started to make money. We grossed $636 in our first 21 days to be exact. That is a lot of money in a short time span for a brand-new blog, so we wanted to write about it.

This monthly series is formatted as a step-by-step guide to help beginner bloggers maximize their blog’s revenue potential. It covers the strategies we’re currently using and will be an excellent resource for those looking into how they can make money online with their exciting blogs, too!

Our Monetization Strategies

Advertising

Our blog, Blogging Money Life went live on August 11th. On that same day, we apply on Google AdSense. Why so soon? Well, Google has to process and approve our account.

And sometimes that can take a bit of time. Although a blog cannot make money instantly with Google AdSense, you can definitely apply once it is live.   

Google AdSense is a great place for new bloggers to start making money with advertisements. The program automatically places ads on your blog and you get paid when a visitor clicks an ad.  

It is pretty simple to complete the process. It takes only a few minutes to get started. Create an AdSense account, insert a little bit of code, and you’re done. Google displays ads tailored to your website’s content or based on users’ previous searches in service of targeted advertising.

Eventually, we plan to move on from AdSense and onto a more lucrative advertising channel like Mediavine or AdThrive. But until we have the traffic required by those advertising channels, AdSense is the first step to making money with advertisement. Luckily for us, Google did not make us wait long. We were approved for AdSense the very next day after we applied.

Promotion of our products 

We have started the process of moving some of my existing products from Miss Millennia Magazine, over to the new blog. And almost as soon as we had them in place, we saw income from sales and new subscribers.

One of those products is a paid email subscription that we offer called Blogging Money Update. This is my list of new Sponsored Post Opportunity in the form of a newsletter that I send three times a week to the subscribers. But the most surprising sales came from our course, Blogging Money Formula.

Currently, Blogging Money Formula it’s only available for those who go through a specific email sequence on our other website. But we surprisingly made a few sales of this course last month. The product had gained awareness when we offered it for free as a promotion during our blog launch. This was completely unexpected, but of course a welcome surprise. 

So how exactly did we make these sales? Well, we held a drawing to incentivize people to sign up on our Blogging Money Life email list. We offered the Blogging Money Formula course for free to three lucky new subscribers.

In turn, this contest also brought awareness to that product, which led to a couple of sales. So what did we learn? When conducting a launch, it is worth it to offer a free incentive.

We have another avenue to grow our email list and grow it quickly. This month we are participating in the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit launch. It’s an excellent way to get more email subscribers and draw more awareness to our brand. It also puts us in the position to earn more money than what we would if it were just selling our product on its own.
